Nastya Wins Auckland!

Auckland, NZL - Hey everyone, well I write now really pleased with myself, as I've picked up my first title in my very first event on the Pro Tour! It's a fantastic start, and a big surprise, but it wasn't easy, my final was an epic 7-6 5-7 7-6 win over Daniela Hantuchova that lasted over 3 hours, I knew she was a tough opponent, and after I blew a 5-1 lead in the second set, she began to grow in confidence, but I just hung in there, I played great in both tie-breaks, that was the difference and in the end I won!

Earlier in the event I scored wins over Venus Williams (6-3 7-6) and Ashley Harkleroad (7-6 6-2), two great players, unfortunately myself and Sandra Kloesel lost in the doubles in the quarter-finals to Hantuchova and Harkleroad, who went on to win the title, but it was still a great week, I think I'll be ranked #2 in the rankings when they're released so that's great news, and hopefully I'll have contnued success in Sydney, until then, later. Nastya :)

Nastya Heads To Melbourne

Sydney, AUS - Hi all, well I write to you now after a disappointing event in Sydney where I lost in the quarter-finals to Francesca Schiavone, I felt like I could have done much better, but Fran played a great match and went on to reach the final, I did score a good win over Justine Henin in the first round though, and I'm still reasonably confident ahead of the Australian Open next week, I'm seeded 4th, and hopefully I'll have a good event, so until next week, when I'll some better news finger's crossed, Nastya. :)
