My first week was a dissapointing one, I arrived here with some good motivation and having very good training sessions with my sister Serena but i just couldn't do the same thing during matches. In single, my first round was a tight match but I could have done a lot better and it would maybe have change the final score... Against Nastya Myskina I had many opportunities to break in the first set but just I just wasted them all and as I was broken once she won the first 6-3. Second was tight but we were both doing some mistakes here and there both in the TB my forehand just let me down, all was going out by ten feets, the 4 points I made were only two aces and two UEs from Nastya. So I lost a tight match in which I could have done a lot better IMO. In doubles, I played with my sisters but both of us played like we did in our first round matches, we were both eliminated in first round, our opponents Shahar Peer and Lucie Safarova destroyed us excepted the second set were with made a short comeback to win the set 6-4. We finally lost 6/0 4/6 6/1, I just I can do better next week, one thing is sure I can't do worse!

Venus Williams arrived in Hobart two days ago and looked much more positive than last week after her two losses in two match. Venus said "This is a new week, a new tournament and new game strategy!" Venus Williams will play Mara Santangelo and if she wins she would qualify and then play Ana Ivanovic, 4th seed. Venus said about her opponent "I don't really know how she plays, I don't really know her but I will just try to adapt my game as much as I can to hers and hope it will work. Mara and I will probably play the doubles tournament together, it's not totally confirmed but it should okay." We also asked Venus why she didn't play in Sydney Tier II instead of playing a Tier IV here in Hobart and she answered us "My game level isn't high enough to go out there and play with the girl who got great result last week, I prefered to come here and try to hit as much ball as I can before the Aussie Open"

Hi everybody! I still didn't find any way to get a win in single on the Pro Tour after two tournaments. Cause of my bad performance last week, I had to qualify to get in the main draw of the Moorilla Hobart International, my opponent was Mara Santangelo of Italy. I played better than last week but it still wasn't enough again! When I was under pressure I just couldn't deliver! After losing the first set 7-5, I came back strong in the second to tight the match at one set on each sides. The third set was similar to the first we went up to 5-5 but when I had to held, I choked! Mara broke me @ 0 and then I just lost my focus and didn't regain it in time to force a tie break, so I had to get oof the court with another dissapointing loss. In doubles, I played with Mara, even if she beat me I didn't have anything against her, she's such a sweet girl! We played against the 2nd seed, Liga Dekmeijere and Sandra Kloesel. We started of strong, we really played well in the first set, Liga and Sandra weren't making the job at the net so we didn't miss any opportunity to win points and we won te first set 6-3. In the second set, Mara and I lost our focus and maybe came a little some overconfidence on the field so we payed the price and our opponents took the set 1-6. The third set was the best of the three, there were some breaks here and there but each team was able to tie the things back and we went up to 6-6 and had to play a final tie break. Our Georgian and German oppoenents went up 0-2 in the tie break but suddenly I and Mara began making every shot we wanted to do and we just played our best tennis of the match and I closed the match with an ace! We won 6-3 1-6 7-6(2). Tommorow we play in final against Ana Ivanovic and Amelie Mauresmo!

This week was another dissapoiting for me but by far the most one. Since the beginning of the year, I think I haven't been that mad, sad and discouraged. I came to the AO with hopes of building myself a new confidence but that didn't happen. In single my game was there but I still was knocked in first round by Tamira Paszek 6-4 7-6(2), it's getting more and more frustrating to lose tight match I really don't know what to change in my game presently. In doubles, I and Nicole got a WC and lost 6-2 7-6(0) to my sister and Olga but I'm even more dissapointed for Nikki than for me, I just don't know what to do. It's getting very tough to be on the tour let's hope I'll be able to forget that horrible season beginning and come out stronger in my next tournament.
