We only have so many round, so we can't go too crazy.
What to do with new countries?
Do we have the same nations as last year and the 1st round losers play new nations to qualify for the "world group"?

How did you played that last year?

Last year we had 8 teams and 3 rounds, like the world group basically.
But we closed out commitments after first 8 commited and I think there'll be more teams this year, but obviously those who already played last year have a slight advantage, at least those that won their first round, those were Holland (winners), Italy (finalists), Slovenia and Canada (semifinalists).

I think only teams which have more than 2 players can commit and with 5 or less participants...

Teams who do not have sufficient players could form...Team Europe A...Or Team America A etc...

I think that only teams what have 2 and more players can join... we have 17 teams... from all zones the best team (2 best players rank) will play in world group and 4 other teams will get in with the rank...
World group:
Europe: Israel (30)
America: USA (11)
Asia: Singapur (37)
Oceania: Australia (51)
Other best teams:
Canada (14)
Slovenia (39)
France (41)
Poland (42)

And 9 teams who wont get in world group will play between there and 4 teams will qualify to play-off against the loosers from world group.

We (the dutch) should play World Group off course as last years winners...

and not Asia or something like this

and if someone will play for France and is from Poland he can play for France :)

and btw some players from the ranking retired from this game and I will not remove them :)

I'm preparing Fed Cup standings based on last year's results and the commitment thread for Fed Cup should be out by the end of the weekend.

My idea is that in the top group we have the same teams as last year and those, who lose the first round play with the winners of second group clashes for participating in the top group next year.
Before you jump on my back, because of this, let me just say that in real life you can't start at the top and you have to work your way there, so nations that haven't played last year need to do just that.
It would be great if we could have like 4 rounds, but we are limited with the number of Fed Cup rounds, unless someone finds a way to work around that.

semifinals will be played 2 days - tipping real semifinal matches

play-off will be played 2 days too but on first day all singles matches and on second day only doubles if needed if not than not - tipping real pay-offs matches [or maybe tipping real semifinals matches only?? What do you think???]
