View Full Version : New Game Idea Sharapova's_Boy Mar 2nd, 2007, 07:25 AM Just wondering if there would be any interest for a game like this. :wavey: Sharapova's_Boy Mar 2nd, 2007, 07:26 AM Professional Tour ★ How To Join Select a WTA player to play as. She can be active, an ITF junior, or a past and now retired WTA player. You do not have a limit on the amount of professional players you can coach, but after your first Professional player, the only way to gain another is by guiding them up and through the junior ranks. ★ Sending Points All Professional players start out with 100 points. To send points, simply divide the # of points you have between 3 sets. For example 50/4/45, 60/10/30, etc. Then send them in a Private Message to Sharapova's_Boy. Matches and scores are created by calculating the difference between the amount of points you have per set. Point difference and the resulting set score are below. ★ Point Difference 0 - 7-6(6) * (Previous Points) 1 - 7-6(5) 2 - 7-6(4) 3 - 7-6(3) 4 - 7-6(2) 5 - 7-6(1) 6 - 7-6(0) 7-14 - 7-5 15-24 - 6-4 25-34 - 6-3 35-44 - 6-2 45-54 - 6-1 55+ - 6-0 * - If points are tied, then the players' previous points will be taken into account. For example, if the second set is tied, then their previous second set points will be added to the current second set, to break the tie. If there is still a tie, then we move back onto previous sets, to eventually break the tie.) ★ Changing Points After the completion of each round of a tournament, you have the option of changing points. This means, you can send in a new combination of your # of points. You don't have to send in new points, but it's an option. ★ Bonus Points There are two ways to gain more points to use for your player, which will in turn give you better chances at winning matches. The first, is by winning matches at tournaments. For every match you win, you will receive a certain amount of points to use for your player. GS - 10 points for each match won. Tier I - 8 Tier II - 6 Tier III - 4 Tier IV - 2 100K - 1 75K - 1 point for every match won after the first round. 50K - 1 point for every match won after the second round. 25K - 1 point for every match won after the Quarter Finals. 10K - 1 point for every match won after the Semi Finals. For example if you reach the French Open Semi Finals, you will be able to add 50 points to your player. (1r + 2r + 3r + 4r + QF wins = 50 points). Points gained from matches won will only be valid for the season. When a new season begins, you will be reset with your original points. The second way of gaining more points is by changing points before every round. For everytime you change points you receive 1 point to retain forever, regardless of whether you win or lose the match or what Tier the tournament is. You will have 1 point which will be added to your original 100, and will stay there forever. So if you change points 43 times in a season, your original points will now be 143. Bonus points gained from tournaments and changing points will be eligible to use at your next event. So if have 112 points to use, you will use that amount for the whole tournament. Points accumulated during the tournament will only be eligible to use at your next event. ★ Ranking Points http://img153.imageshack.us/img153/2586/prorankpointspt4.jpg ★ Quality Points Quality points are rewarded for beating opponents ranked in a certain position. #1 - 66 #2 - 55 #3 - 45 #4 - 36 #5 - 28 #6-10 - 21 #11-16 - 15 #17-25 - 10 #26-35 - 6 #36-50 - 3 #51+ - 1 ★ Doubles For doubles, simply sign up with a partner in the tournament threads. Your combined singles points will be used. There is no changing points in doubles, and the same point difference table will be used for doubles. ★ Tournament Limit Your Professional player will be restricted to 25 singles and doubles event per year. Fed Cup, Exhibition and the Year-End Championships do not count towards these 25 tournaments. If a player enters over 25 events, she will not be included in the draws. ★ Schedule The schedule will follow the WTA schedule. ITF Challenger events will be scheduled at some dates. Sharapova's_Boy Mar 2nd, 2007, 07:26 AM Junior Tour As well has having a professional player, you have the option of building a junior player. You can only coach 1 junior player at a time. ★ How To Join Simply join in the junior sign-up thread with your player. (The player must be outside the top 50 on the real WTA rankings at the time when your junior signs up). ★ Sending Points All junior players start out with 50 points. Simply divide them between 3 sets, and send them Sharapova's_Boy. ★ Point Difference 0 7-6(6) *1 (Previous Points) 1 7-6(5) 2 7-6(4) 3 7-6(3) 4 7-6(2) 5 7-6(1) 6-10 7-6(0) 11-15 7-5 16-20 6-4 21-25 6-3 26-30 6-2 31-35 6-1 36+ 6-0 * - If points are tied, then the players' previous points will be taken into account. For example, if the second set is tied, then their previous second set points will be added to the current second set. More previous sets will be added until the tie is broken.) ★ Changing Points On the junior tour, you cannot change points. The points that you send for your first match will be used for the whole tournament. ★ Bonus Points There are two types of bonus points on the junior tour. The first, like the pro tour, are obtained when you win matches. GA - 10 points for every match you win. B1 - 8 G1 - 6 G2 - 4 G3 - 3 G4 - 2 G5 - 1 If your junior turns pro, the points obtained from these round wins will not carry through onto the pro tour. The second way of obtaining points is when you win or make the final at an event. GA - WON - 12 / R/U - 6 B1 - WON - 10 / R/U - 5 G1 - WON - 8 / R/U - 4 G2 - WON - 6 / R/U - 3 G3 - WON - 4 / R/U - 2 G4 - WON - 2 / R/U - 1 G5 - WON - 1 / R/U - 0 These points will be added to your 50 original points to use forever. If your junior turns pro, these points obtained will be able to be used upon the pro tour. ★ Ranking Points http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/5325/juniorrankpointsqp0.jpg Your ranking will be made up of your 10 best singles results, and your 5 best doubles results. ★ Quality Points There will be no quality points on the junior tour. ★ Doubles There will be doubles on the junior tour. Simply sign up with a partner, and I'll combine your singles points. The same point difference and set result table for singles will also be used for doubles. ★ Tournament Limit Juniors do not have a limit on the amount of tournaments they can play. Be mindful of the fact though that only your 10 best singles and 5 best doubles results will count towards your ranking. ★ Schedule The junior schedule will follow the real ITF junior tour, incorporating GA, B1, G1, G2, G3, G4 and G5 events. ★ How To Turn Pro At the conclusion of each GA event, the 3 top ranked juniors have the option of turning pro and joining the professional tour. Once your junior has turned pro, you have the option of coaching another junior. You don't have to, but the option is there. ★ Junior Exempts When the top 3 juniors turn pro after the GA events, they receive Special Exempts onto the pro circuit. Which means, they have 3 events of their choice where they automatically are entered into the Main Draw. The #1 ranked junior receives - Automatic Main Draw entry into: 3 x Tier I of their choice. The #2 ranked junior receives - Automatic Main Draw entry into: 3 x Tier II of their choice. The #3 ranked junior receives - Automatic Main Draw entry into: 3 x Tier III of their choice. dAdEx Mar 2nd, 2007, 06:43 PM Nice, but if we can change points after matches, you will have a lot work Farina Elia Fan Mar 2nd, 2007, 08:25 PM :hearts: Tennace Mar 2nd, 2007, 08:27 PM I like it, but... The win points after each match thing will be weird. If someone makes a final the first week, they are likely to make it again, then new people who join only have 100 points while some might be in the 200s. Maybe not add so many points, only if people reach semifinals or finals or winning. MasterFreak Mar 2nd, 2007, 08:39 PM Isn´t it the same like FWTT? Ultimatum Mar 2nd, 2007, 09:01 PM I would like it, but not sending new points after each match... but otherwise I like it :D FORZA PENNETTA Mar 2nd, 2007, 09:11 PM I like it!:) libre83 Mar 2nd, 2007, 09:28 PM Allright....:yeah: I join to it... 416_Man Mar 3rd, 2007, 01:33 AM :D Always buddy. Hantu515 Mar 3rd, 2007, 01:47 AM If someone makes a final the first week, they are likely to make it again, then new people who join only have 100 points while some might be in the 200s. Maybe not add so many points, only if people reach semifinals or finals or winning. I thought this too, but I would play gocanadago Mar 3rd, 2007, 02:38 AM It would be a great game, but the only little things I don't like are, the option of changing points after everymatch and I think we can earn points too easily -VSR- Mar 3rd, 2007, 06:27 AM I like the idea. But another option would be not to earn points for every match you win, but only for every tournament you win. Even with that, you should only gain like 5 points. I don't know, I just agree that you are gaining points too easily and it could become confusing. It's a great idea and good looking game though. Ultimatum Mar 3rd, 2007, 08:59 AM I like it, but... The win points after each match thing will be weird. If someone makes a final the first week, they are likely to make it again, then new people who join only have 100 points while some might be in the 200s. Maybe not add so many points, only if people reach semifinals or finals or winning. I agree to that.Maybe just get points for SF or QF on... :) Sharapova's_Boy Mar 3rd, 2007, 09:00 AM Nice, but if we can change points after matches, you will have a lot work This is something that I've thought about, and I'm willing to put in a lot of work. :yeah: I like it, but... The win points after each match thing will be weird. If someone makes a final the first week, they are likely to make it again, then new people who join only have 100 points while some might be in the 200s. Maybe not add so many points, only if people reach semifinals or finals or winning. I guess I could adjust the # of points to receive for a win. The reason I thought people could change points would be to have a better chance at beating the top players with more points. LRWTT is an example where a player with quite a small amount of points could upset a player with far more points. Isn´t it the same like FWTT? Only the point system and the junior tour are similar to FWTT. FWTT has opted not to use the junior system anymore, so I thought it would be a good idea to include this, seeing as though no other game has a concept like this. I would like it, but not sending new points after each match... but otherwise I like it :D As I said earlier, you don't have to send new points, but it's an option that has some nice rewards. :) It would be a great game, but the only little things I don't like are, the option of changing points after everymatch and I think we can earn points too easily As I said earlier, changing points is an option - An option designed to reward players who put in the extra effort. As for earning too many points, this is the reason why I introduced a limit onto the # of tournaments a player can enter. The current limit is 24, which I think is an alright figure, seeing as it means that a player would have to miss 12 weeks of the WTA calendar I like the idea. But another option would be not to earn points for every match you win, but only for every tournament you win. Even with that, you should only gain like 5 points. I don't know, I just agree that you are gaining points too easily and it could become confusing. It's a great idea and good looking game though. I was thinking of having a thread where everyone's points would be updated after each event, to help players track just how many points to send. As for having points for every tournament won, I think then it would be pretty much the same as FWTT. :( But, again, thanks to everyone for their feedback. :worship: It's greatly appreciated. :) Ballbasher Mar 3rd, 2007, 09:09 AM Serena Williams-Pro Tour Ksenia Palkina-Junior Tour Is that ok?
