If a players gets into the main draw of a challenger (or any tourney) as a LL, do they keep only the points from quallies, or do they get points for MD as well... or do they only get MD points? Or if it's a 10k challenger, I guess they don't get any points in the quallies anyway... so how does it work? (Hoping they can keep MD points, but fearful they don't). :(

I think they keep all the points they gain on main draw and only not the specific points you get when you are a qualifier.

In Tournaments where prize money is $25,000 or greater, with regard to Round points: Qualifiers earn Main Draw Round points based on the highest round reached in the Main Draw plus the Round points specified in the Qualifier (QLFR) column. However, Qualifiers who lose in the first round of the Main Draw are awarded only the Round points specified in the Qualifier (QLFR) column. Qualifiers retain the Quality points earned in qualifying, but not the Qualifying Round points. Lucky Losers earn only Main Draw Round and Quality points based on the highest round reached in the Main Draw unless they lose in the first round of the Main Draw in which case they receive only the Round and Quality points earned in Qualifying.
· In Tournaments where prize money is less than $25,000, no Qualifying Round or Quality points are awarded to Qualifiers or Lucky Losers. With regard to the Main Draw: Qualifiers who lose in the first round of the Main Draw are awarded only the points specified in the Qualifier (QLFR) column. In 10K events you get only main draw points as you don't earn any points if you lose in qualifying.

In other events, if you lose in first round you only get your qualifying points. If you win at least one match in main draw you get your main draw points + points you made in qualifying.
