Interesting obsevations - 05 September 2006 (Guangzhau)
It is hard to know where to start from...I have so far been in China for 13 days and as always ,it has been a great experience. U know how people always wonder who knows more, the one who reads more or the one who travels more??..I must admit i do belive people who travels get a chance to see so much that sometimes words are hard to explain it. The little everyday things happening around you when you travel are hard to write down as notes and even if you do, put into word they sometimes lose the exact explaination of the situaiton.
China, as i see it, is an incredibly fast improving country.Everywhere you go, you can see how new apartments being built, the new branches of Pizza Hut, KFC, Adidas and other world wide brands are opening and are full of people..However, whats more interesting is the way the Chinese people are adapting to this westernization. I think it s rather cute and funny to see people going up to the salad bar in Pizza Hut and spending an average of 25 mins to build up their own little 'salad apartment' as i call it.I figured that all this work is to get your moneys worth since you can only make one visit to the salad bar..And they are patient and talented enough to make floors out of this salad bar.
However, I must say i am quite fascinated by the amount of good tennis players they have. It is obvious that the next generation of young tennis stars of the WTA will have a lot of Chinese. They are practising a lot, have a lot of international tournaments organized for them within China, and hungry to play. I have played some tough mathces against really good players who are not ranked hing YET but soon we may hear of them.
