This ITF tournament (10.000$) is taking place for the third time at Palic, town in the nothern part of Serbia.
Palic is most famous by it's "Palicko jezero" (lake) and beautiful nature.
The town has about 8.000 citizens, and it is located 18km from the Hungarian border.
2004 the winner was Czech Eva Hrdinova. She was eighteen when she triumphed in Palic, winning her first career title.
To that time she was 499th in the world, but later climbed up to the career-high position 180.
In the final she defeated Serbian player without rank at the time of
the tournament, 16 years old Andrea Popovic 6-0 3-6 6-0. Popovic is now positioned 480 in the world.
The last year winner was Miljana Adanko, who recently decided to play for Serbia instead for Hungary. She defeated her (now) compatriot Ana Jovanovic 7-5 6-1. Both were ranked about 500 in the world at the start of the tournament. Adanko was the 2nd seed, Jovanovic as number 1.
Unfortunately both girls got injured at the end of 2005 and they are now placed behind 700.
