Welcome to the first event of the first season in WWTT history.

The Hopman Cup is a way to get everyone started evenly so that I can see who gets bye's in the first round of our next event, the Mondial Women's Hardcourts.


Each player has 130 points to spread out into 3 sets.

Tuesday, June 11th at 12pm(noon) Eastern US Time points are due.

(Because of having 19 players, only 3 Round of 32 matches will be played. Until we get higher numbers or an even number, this will have to stay this way. Results in this tournament do not go towards rankings, but they will allow me to see who will get Bye's in next weeks tournament.)

No this isn't like the real Hopman Cup. I just needed a Tournament name to make it an exhibition. It will only be women lol.

-The match started easily for Na Li, but Harkleroad fought back in the 2nd set, however it wasn't enough and Na Li prevails and is into the Final 16.-

-Capriati never showed up, that is why Molik heads to the Round of 16 without hitting a ball.-

Daniela Hantuchova defeated Ana Ivanovic

0-6, 6-0, 7-6(4)

-It was the first 3 set match in WWTT history and Daniela Hantuchova came out the winner after a very slow start. It was an odd match with each trading 6-0 sets before going the distance in the third with Hantuchova just slightly playing better in the tie break.

Venus Williams from USA arrived to the Hompan Cup in Perth. In the first round she had an "Bye" and now she will play against Nicole Vaidisova, what can Venus tall us about Nicole and other things? "Yeah, Nicole is a very good player, it's a very hard test for me against her. She has also very powerful shots and so I think I must play my best tennis against her. Okay, it's only an exhibiton, but it is good to see where I'm standing. I practised a lot in the last time for improving my game, so I think I will have good chances for playing very well here and for the rest of the season."

-Well the match started out close in the first set but Venus just raised her level and Vaidasova seemed to stay the same.-

-This was an odd match. The first two sets one player dominated and the other couldn't get a game in. The last set was back and forth with Dementieva inching out the victory.-

"Wow, what a match. In the second set I left her no chance and I was surprised that I played so well. In the first set it was closed, we both played there very good tennis, but then I played better and better. In the second I made no unforced errors and had a great servie. I'm very happy about this start. Now I'm playing against Na Li from China, I never played against her and I don't how is her game etc. However she's also in QF, so I think she is a very good player and I must try my best".

Hantuchova Battles Through

Daniela Hantuchova of Slovakia has moved on to the quarterfinals of the Hopman Cup after posting a marathon 7-6,6-7,7-6 victory over Kim Clijsters of Belgium in just over two and a half hours.The match was very tight,both players were on fire,nailing winners from everywhere,serving huge,and coming up with cute angles.Daniela will next play Venus Williams.

-Well the first two sets were over with in a breeze but the last set no one wanted to give up but Hantuchova simply was the better player and took the match 8-6 in a tiebreak.-

-Well much like the first match, the first two sets were over quick but unlike the Mauresmo/Hantuchova match, Venus upped her level and defeated Na Li easily in the third set.-

-It was either great play from Serena or just a tired Dementieva in the 2nd set that saw Serena win most points allowing her to compete in the Semi-Finals-

Hantuchova Shines In Perth


Daniela Hantuchova was one of six players who had to play a third round match,who would have thought that she would make her way through the field having spent hours longer on court than most players.In the Hopman Cup final Hantuchova Faced Jamea Jackson of the United States.The match was very topsy-turvy that saw Hantuchova hold her nerves better as she closed out the match with an ace down the T to win 0-6,6-0,7-6(7-2) in just under two hours.

"You know of course i'm very happy to have won the first tournament on tour,it means a lot to me and hopefully this is a sign for things to come.I go to Canberra next week and hopefully my game will still be on,and i'm very excited."

Hantuchova will be seeded number 1 at the tournament,and should have a bye first round pending the number of entrants.
