UDACHi May 7th, 2006, 03:48 AM Dementieva Slides Onto Clay In Style
http://dementieva.ru/downloads/catimages/179_image.jpg
Elena Dementieva slides for a ball in practice days before the beginning of the LTT Monte Carlo Masters of Monaco, Monte Carlo.
After an inconsistent rebound ace stretch, which included one runner-up finish, a semifinal showing, and two opening round defeats, Elena Dementieva of Moscow, Russia arrived in Monaco, Monte Carlo today with her mother, Vera Dementieva, to kick off her clay court run. The ninth ranked Russian will face clay court specialist Flavia Pennetta in her first round match.
"You know, this is not an easy way to start the event. I was really hoping that after my loss in Australia, I might get a draw that would maybe allow me to get some matches under my belt and get my game together for when I met a real solid player, but, you know, the draws have never been kind to me, so why start now? I mean, Flavia is a great clay court player and she is full of confidence after a great run in Australia, so it should be tough, but I will just fight for every ball, you know."
The 24 year old Dementieva appears to be extremely focused in recent months, capturing her first career singles title in Zurich, Switzerland in one of last season's final events, and reaching a semifinal and a final to open her campaign in the second season of the LTT. In doubles, however, the powerful baseliner has been far less successful.
"I don't know about doubles, you know. Singles is tough on my body and, I mean, I play a lot of long, tough matches, and doubles right now just seems like a waste of time for me, you know. It takes too much energy and I'm starting to just feel that it's useless. We'll see how it goes in the next few events, I guess, you know."

new-york May 7th, 2006, 08:05 PM Althea Gibson hates Clay & delays her plan to get a white dress.
http://img439.imageshack.us/img439/2223/altheawhitedevil8gj.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
"I'm happy, i've been a quarterfinalist @ the A0, but damn, i would have loved to follow those results by some other good ones on hard court. Even if Rebound Ace is kinda odd sometimes, i just felt like at the uso sometimes, hitting flat bombs but here that ended lookin like my arm was a creepy thin stick. So slow i could have brought the cellphone to call Kirsty Darl so we could update eachother about the last scoops. ."
Monte Carlo, being a big tournament, Althea Gibson hopes to do well to climb up even more in the rankings.
"I'm delighted, i moved from 27 to 15 last week, i mean, that's wonderful. I kinda feel a pressure to be a seed now, you're bolded, kinda like "look at her falling", but i need to trust in myself, i'm old, but the century is still not coming today".
Her optimism falls apart as we suggest her that she will have to change her gameplan on clay.
"Boy, clay is the weirdest thing on tennis. it's like, you get a beautiful dress, new hair, bright shoes & you end the match just like you were just fishing some old canned foods in the garbage. horrendous."
At the end at the interview, Althea Gibson gave us a lil paper.
"Ask Me This Question".
Q- What do you think about Amelie Mauresmo?
A.G- Well, she won a slam. And i heard she likes her coach A LOT.
to be continued....
Yasmine May 7th, 2006, 08:19 PM mmmm, lookin at the last James Bond movie Kirsty Darl, of course. ;)

Farina Elia Fan May 7th, 2006, 11:44 PM Farina Elia Ready For Clay!
http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g293/farina_elia_fan/1472.jpg
8th seed Silvia Farina Elia is ready for the clay court season after reaching the semi finals of the womens doubles last week at the Australian Open with Stephanie Dubois. Farina Elia, who has a lot of points to defend on the clay opens up against Russian Maria Sharapova.
The Italian said 'So far the season has gone simular to last year, I had a horrible season up to Australia and reached the semis in mixed with Flippo and did the same this year except in womens doubles with Steph. Hopefully this means I a lot of wins on the clay! I have been brought up on the clay and trained a lot on it and hoepfully after reaching the semis last year in Roland Garros I can go the couple of steps further this time'

Darl, i really don't know. But they need to let us be in charge of all that. We're the best at haircuting & cooking.
*Jool* May 8th, 2006, 01:54 PM One month after her surprising loss in Sydney to crowd favorite Sam Stosur , world number 7 Sonya Jeyaseelan was again a victim of the Australian on clay in Monte Carlo, in first round. Surprisingly enough, Jeyaseelan is very regular on tour . She usually gets to late rounds in small draws like Tier IIs and hardly gets past the third round ofSlams or Tier Is. But she also barely lost a match in round 1. Today was one of these days where nothing goes as expected for the Canadian.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v666/joolov/jeyaseelan01.jpg
Sonya Jeyaseelan questionning herself after her shocking loss in round 1.
"Don't understand what happened. I tried new strategy. Tried to adapt my game to clay because I really sucked last season on clay. Stosur is not a clay-courter and I feel really bad right now. This is an awful result. I have the feeling I can't improve anymore, and all I do is crap . I lost my time on court today, should have withdrawn, would have been simpler. Do I need a break from tennis ? Possibly. I'm getting a bit tired , I'm kinda losing faith. I know we have to go through up and downs. But it's very frustrating to be one of the top contenders for a few tournaments , and then everything falls apart and you have to find the motivation again and try new things, restart all from the beginning, keep practicing harder and harder , whereas in the meantime, other players keep improving and are always more dangerous and always more of them are ready to kick your ass on court and take you down. Hard times, really. I hate to feel like this, because the match was close, I could try to analyse what went wrong and try tosort out the positive and negative sides from this match, but right now the only way I feel is upset, disappointment and anger. I don't know what to do to bounce back . Hopefully I can win a match or two with Maleeva to make the pain vanish a little."
Jeyaseelan's coach added : "Some losses are harder to swallow. I know Sonya very well. She puts so much heart in the game that she really suffers from her losses. It's hard to keep her focused sometimes , she's somehow a bit ,how could I say , uncontrolable ? Very nervous , you know. When she misses a shot she's very frustrated. But she works so hard. It's a pleasure to work with her, she's definitely worth working with. We just have to find a way to bring back this confidence,to improve this mental side, because physically and technically , she's ok. It's all mental. I think when she doesn't feel her game, she lets it all down, and gets overwhelmed by her demons, her health problems, all she had to overcome in her private life et cetera. It's hard to be a top player. Thank God she has some wonderful friends to help her in hard times. Althea was so nice after their last meeting in Melbourne, and here she was the first one again to come to Sonya in the lockerrom to try and comfort her . SOnya can count on them all, but she knows she'll have to rely on herself to get to the higher step. Tennis is a lot of dedication, she knows it, does her best , but gets down too easily. I'll have to talk to her today , she has to regroup before the doubles. Maggie and her coach are counting on her, she can't let them down. Believe me, it will be ok ;) The clay season has only begun today, Sonya will beready for Roland Garros."

¤CharlDa¤ May 9th, 2006, 01:21 AM Dubois eases into round two
http://www.tenniscanada.ca/federation/news_photos/dubois03-small.jpg
Stephanie Dubois, Canada's second best ranked player after good friend Jeyaseelan, defeated Hungary's Petra Mandula in two 6-3 sets today to advance to the second round of the Monte Carlo Masters.
After a difficult time last year, which has seen her exit most of her singles tournaments in the first round, Stephanie seemed to have found a new passion for the game in Year 2. After a great performance in Fed Cup (where she won both her singles matches for Canada in a tough 3-2 win against Russia), she is holding a positive record for the first time of her career.
Despite having few wins against higher ranked players, Stephanie still needs to add a little something to her game to gain that edge needed to go further than the second or third round in the tournament she enters. Next round, she faces the 14th seed Rodionova, whom she already beat in Fed Cup this year.
Stephanie's confidence is also due a lot to her partnership with good friend Farina-Elia, with whom she is the Wimbledon and YEC defending champion. Recently, the canado-italian team had their best performance of the year when they reached the semifinals of the Australian Open. Now ranked 6th in the world in doubles, Stephanie is eager to find the same confidence in singles and get in the top 20.
¤CharlDa¤ May 9th, 2006, 01:26 AM Hope you guys are happy now ;)

Marcus1979 May 9th, 2006, 01:44 AM Stosur Edges past Jeyaseelan
http://blogs.wtnphotos.com/data/622/12003-ausopen110.jpg
For the 2nd time in a month Samantha Stosur and Sonya Jeyaseelan have faced off. Like the last encounter this one was a very tight one. In Sydney Stosur won 6-4 4-6 7-5 in what was her biggest win of her career. She has since been inconsistent winning mainly 1st rounds then loosing the next.
In Monte Carlo the score was even tighter 7-6 3-6 7-5 won again by Stosur who now leads the series 2-0.
Stosur was using this event as a experiment to try out different things in her gameplan which has been very predictable to this point in her short career.
"I am hoping for a good result here. I know its to early to be expecting a win from my point of view but if I play well and give myself a chance that will be something to be happy with"
UDACHi May 9th, 2006, 02:11 AM Dementieva Crashes Out In Monte Carlo
http://dementieva.ru/downloads/catimages/473_image.jpg
Ninth seeded Elena Dementieva reacts after one of forty four unforced errors in a 7-6 (5) 6-4 first round loss to Flavia Pennetta in the LTT Monte Carlo Masters.
"Today, I just couldn't find my range. My serve wasn't working too badly, it was more my groundstrokes that were just a mess, you know. I'm not used to this happening. I mean, I got here [Monte Carlo, Monaco] really early to work out a few things that I didn't do so well in Melbourne, you know, and it really didn't work out so well. This is my third straight loss and it's a little tough, but you learn to battle through it, you know. It's been much worse than this, that's for sure. I'll just have to keep improving my clay tennis because, you know, it's just been a lost cause and I really need to build some strengths on it."

Vacant May 9th, 2006, 06:41 AM Pennetta Gains Revenge over Dementieva, Hopes for Repeat Against Bovina
http://www.momentosera.it/img/F_Pennetta_0601_06.jpg
Flavia Pennetta moved into the second round of the Monte Carlo Masters, Rome,
with a solid but not spectacular performance against Russian Elena Dementieva.
In a match full of breaks and long games, Pennetta raised her game slightly when
it mattered most, though she was gifted the match at 5-4 with one of mant double faults
from Dementieva.
After the match Pennetta said, 'Well for me, I am not happy with my performance
today, but a win is a win, and I am happy to have gained revenge for my loss to
Dementieva earlier in the season. I don't like to lose to a player twice in a row.
I face Bovina next, and it's going to be tough, but hopefully the experience of beating
her last week will put me through into the next round.'

The clear win of Bulgarian Sesil Karantantcheva over 3rd seeded France's Tatiana Golovin in buttles of teenagers. Hingis Gibson and Rodionova were out of the ordinary as well.
In the doubles, Serbian Ana Ivanovic and Russian Anastassia Rodionova advanced to the second round after beating J.Dokic/M.Pierce team (Serbia Australia/France) 6:3, 6:4 which were quite random win for this duo

However, in other action, the doubles pair Mauresmo/Schiavone succombed
to V.Azarenka/V.Williams in three sets of 6-4 3-6 6-4.
MONTE CARLO, Monaco - It was with mixed feelings that No. 4 seed, and newly crowned Australian Open champion, Amelie Mauresmo met with reporters after her matches.
"I'm glad I got through my singles match today. It's really tough having to play your doubles partner. I think our singles match affected our play in doubles. We were both pooped physically and emotionally, you know."
Next up in singles is the No.14 seed, American Angela Haynes who defeated Nadia Petrova of Russia in straight sets of 7-5 6-3.
"I'm not really sure what to expect really. I haven't really had the chance to process what happened at the Australian Open but I'll do my best."

(5)L.Davenport (USA) def. A-L.Groenefeld (GER) 4-6 6-4 7-6(6)
Lindsay Davenport, current world number 5 defeated dangerous German Anna Lena Gronefeld in a tight three set match to move into the Round of 16. There she will face 11th seeded Palkina.
"Today was really good for me. I really felt like I found my foot on clay just at the right moment" , said Davenport after her 4-6 6-4 7-6(6) win. "I think it was a really tough match, you know, it ended 8-6 in the final set tiebreak, they dont come much tougher than that, but im really happy with the win."
Discussing her next opponent Davenport remainded calm and confident "She is a great player. She has had some great results and is close to crakcing into the top ten, so she is obviously a talented girl. I thingk we played earlier in the year and I won that, so Im hoping I can sitck to my game plan and move into the quater-finals."

 16 Winners in Singles and only 3 articles from Anastassia, Amelie and Lindsay :help:
 It not that difficult at all.
Im not doing results till we get a few more articles. :)
¤CharlDa¤ May 10th, 2006, 04:06 AM Sorry Freak if we don't have either the time or motivation to write articles. That's still not saying we don't care about the games. Most of the time, people just skip the articles and talk to see the results anyways. We appreciate the work you are putting into this, but not everyone might want to write an article each day for every single game they play.
Vacant May 10th, 2006, 06:32 AM I agree with the above.
I wrote an article for round one, and I was not online yesterday, and now I dont really have the time to write one now. Doesn't mean I am not interested in the game. You can't expect an article from everyone in every round. And though there are probably some that dont right any at all, it's not part of the game to do so.
That said, people write some so we get results.
Yasmine May 10th, 2006, 07:35 AM  This game is getting boring and everyone's losing interest. :help: :o

It's not fair that you say people are losing interest. Look at the number of posts and talks after each round. It's not because there are no articles written that people don't have interest. You see people supporting each other and discussing who won and who lost etc etc... I personally am a bit superstitious and seem to be jinxing Kirsten nearly every time I write one and that's why I try to wait until I'm out of the tourney. Besides I don't always have time. But I still try to come and post every single round of tourneys just whether Kirsten is still playing or not, to support friends as well. I think it's already a nice thing that people know each other well in the game and use it to have fun, no need to write tons of articles, that's what makes this place really enjoyable.
Chevina May 10th, 2006, 08:11 AM Sorry Drew, I would write an article even though I lost but I just don't have the time either. I'm also "banned" from the computer this week and I'm just not motivated after Anastasia's loss. Sorry again.
F-R-E-A-K May 10th, 2006, 10:04 AM Who said anything about 'everyone' writing an article after 'every round' they win or lose ....
I understand not everyone has the time to do articles, but you have to understand that we don't always have the time to do results, but we manage to find time. We don't expect everyone to do articles after 'every win', but we do expect atleast a quarter of the winners in each round to do a little article after they win. It only takes 5-10 minutes, to write a title, find a picture and write a 1-2 line quote or sentence.
I believe it is part of the game to write articles as players and coaches. Im sorry, but if we didn't have any articles, the tour would be boring, unrealistic and have no personality and unfortunately we don't just spend 2-3 hours a day and maybe more working out results and then typing results simply for your pleasure.
Superstitious about writing articles  Im sorry, regardless of anyone writing an article or not, its not going to change the result that we'll be posting at the end of the day. :p
:wavey:
*Jool* May 10th, 2006, 10:06 AM superstition

Players not keen to assist press conferences.
Clay season just started a few days ago in Monte Carlo , and the tour organisors have made a surprising announcement today . They said if players don't assist press conferences to give the few journalists present in Monte Carlo what to write about, they won't allow games to be played. It seems no real agreement has been found so far , and the decision of the LTT directors is still not known. Players are practicing and waiting anxiously in the lockerroom. Anastasia Myskina, the world number 1 , rising beauty Flavia Pennetta of Italy, young talent Kirsten Flipkens, and doubles specialist Stéphanie Dubois already shared their view on the topic with the directors.
It seems that the directors ' concern is that the journalists following the tour don't write enough articles . A few players , a la Davenport, Ivanovic, Mauresmo, Jeyaseelan, Farina Elia , Myskina just to name only a few, are always due to their duty to meet the press following their matches. But some players seem to refuse doing so, which frustrates the tour directors. Will an issue be found to satisfy everyone ?
Yasmine May 10th, 2006, 10:12 AM well sorry we all have our habits and beliefs, as crazy as they are  not that winning or losing changes my life  but that's the way it is, and i personnally think it's just as nice to have all those discussions after each round than articles:p there is still some gossip going on

you just don't get it  Kirsten and Althea are too busy looking after their hair to attend press conferences
*Jool* May 10th, 2006, 10:21 AM looking after their hair is nothing related with tennis dear . :p
you should know I don't like players more focused on their looks than on theuir play (shall I name Anna Kournikova the real one? :tape: ) hehe

I'm joking  your stories are fun ;) keep them going Althea and Kirsten :yeah:
anyway I didn't write that to persecute players/coaches that dont write articles, I thought it would be funny to add a little drama ...
BTW I agree with Drew, we're like 60 in this game and I'm sure more than half never wrote an article. It's not that bad , everyone enjoys the game their own way, but if ppl find the time to send points (which is according to me what takes more time, to look for new points, new strategies etc ... ) they should be able to write a few lines now and then ... :p

fOxYLiCiOuS May 10th, 2006, 10:24 AM Its as simple as this!!
If people cant find time to write a simple article, then we cant find time to run this game!
With me working fulltime, and drew studying fulltime, we are actually going out of our way, to ensure results, rankings, and new threads are made on time. The only reason we started a 2nd season, was because we thought we would have the support from you guys.
Its mostly drew actually running the game as im too busy with work, and i really only help with rankings.

Munchen May 10th, 2006, 10:25 AM Clijsters sails past Koukalova
http://blogs.wtnphotos.com/data/3241/7840670clijsters.jpg
(2)K.Clijsters (BEL) def.K.Koukalova (CZE) 6-3 7-6(4)
Clijsters nearly started the match with a break, but Koukalova not only saved her service, but also immediately broke herself. In the third game, it was Kim who would now brake through the Czech's service as Koukalova smashed into the net. In the following game, Kim took her first love game of the match. As the match went on Koukalova could not keep up with Kim, hitting numerous unforvd errors to give the World #2 the first set 6-3 in 28 minutes.
In the second set, the players were even more in balance and the well-matched rhythm produced an exciting second set, with some breaks and re-breaks. Koukalova started the second set furiously and left Clijsters stunned for a while. In no time, the Czech was leading 3-0 but Clijsters managed to get back into the match by showing her great defensive skills, and fighting back to take the second set in a tight tie-breaker.
"I’m very excited with the way I’ve been playing lately," said Clijsters. "I knew from the start that it was going to be very tough out there, and that I had to play well at the important points."
"It was a fun match, lots of long rallies and hard hitting."
In the next round, Clijsters faces 37th ranked Dubois.

Anyway just to add something on the subject, we all know how much work and time Drew and Gary put in this game :worship: and there are some posters that don't look as interested as others and I agree those should post more often (whether they write articles or not) just to take part in the fun of the game. But what can we do about it is my question  threatening not to post more results is not gonna make them come and post since those probably don't even bother reading anything but the results...
wateva May 10th, 2006, 11:01 AM Ana Ivanovic wins 2 matches in a row for the first time this season
http://www.epochtimes.com/i6/5052832001124.jpg
Ana Ivanovic advances the the round of 16 for the first time this season. It also marks the first time Ana has won 2 matches in a row for the new season.
"It's a relief to win 2 matches. I'm still suffering from low confidence. Hopefully, these 2 wins will mark a turn of events."
Ana has sought out different inputs from different coaches but all it did was made Ana more confused on court.
"I think I'm not used to their coaching methods. So I decided to stick to my old method and not to think so much about different strategies."
When quizzed about her absence in the press conferences,
"I've always made myself available for press conferences. It's just that recently I've been losing a lot. Even though I may have lost in the first round, I'll still try to show up. It's now a pleasure to do press conferences because now, I'm winning instead of getting my butt kicked in the first round. I'll also like to thank the tournament managers for doing a great job. I know it isn't easy and I wish everything will go smoothly for them." :)
TomTennis May 10th, 2006, 11:05 AM Where did all this talk come from!?
Drew, Gary, I understand that it must take a lot of time and energy to complete results and rankings etc. and as you can understand, everyone is really greateful for that.
You should look at the number of posts and players each event when you question the popularity and dedication of players. I mean, take this event for an example, its not even a Grand Slam yet we are onto the end of the 5th page already and its only the Round of 16. Thats impressive alone, and the fact that you dont find that on any other game on the board but this one is even more impressive.
In regards to articles, I think the fact that that there are pages and pages of gossip and fun conversation is better than articles, however it is still you opinion. I know that I personally try to write 1-2 articles every event, and it is definetly more if i reach the semi's or final!
HOWEVER, that being said, this game is your decision, Im suprised to be talking about the end of LTT because of everyones excitment to play and commitment to the game, but if it is too much for you guys then you know what you have to do. Im betting it will upset all 60 players that you guys have, but remember that you arent just doing it for them. Studies and full-time work is important and you shouldnt forget that. Hope you usy choose wisely.

Ceze May 10th, 2006, 11:22 AM Maggie's not totally out of Monaco
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/ceze/21238866201maleeva.jpg
For the 2nd time this season, Maggie lost in the 1st round of a tournament. Last time it was in Beijing, as an unseeded player she was defeated by Venus Williams, 8th seed. But this time, and for the very first time since she entered LTT, she was the seeded player, 12th seed, beaten by the unseeded Alicia Molik in 3 sets 64 67(8) 64.
Alicia is a solid player, who already beat Maggie last year in the 3rd round of Miami, but Maggie won their last meeting earlier this year, in the quarters of Sydney. We all know how Maggie, 4th in the race, managed to rebound after Beijing: she reached the final in Sydney the week after. Let's hope she will find a way to do the same this time again!
But Maggie is not totally out of Monte Carlo: she's still in the running in the doubles. Associated with Sonya Jeyaseelan, the 7th team in the race won against the pair made of Sania Mirza and Ai Sugiyama in 3 sets 46 76(6) 63. Sonya, 7th seeded in singles, is also out in singles after the 1st round. The two will have nothing to lose now in the doubles competition!
*Jool* May 10th, 2006, 11:28 AM Maggie's coach thinks he's involved in lots of other activities in the forum, and has not a lot of time to write an article after each match of all the players he coaches, but although he already spends some time every week to make the race, he will set an example :p

Yasmine May 10th, 2006, 11:31 AM Maggie's coach thinks he's involved in lots of other activities in the forum, and has not a lot of time to write an article after each match of all the players he coaches, but although he already spends some time every week to make the race, he will set an example :p
^^ that's what i call real dedication :worship: unfortunately not everyone can do that but it's great Maggie's coach does

thalle May 10th, 2006, 01:04 PM Golovin to finals
http://av.warehousesports.com/tw/ppimg/TGOLOVIN.JPG
Being young and professionel isn't always easy! Miss Golovin has always wanted to graduate, even though she played tennis. She has managed so far to keep up in school, it has been tough, but she has fought, just like on the courts. But it will be a lot tougher now, since she is a senior and has 7 finals in the next 6 weeks.
"I am not too fond of the situation. Soon Roland Garros will be up, and I need to keep playing to maintain my form, but at the same time I need to study. I think I will cut down on my training, and instead keep playing matches and read before, between and after matches and tournaments. I don't think I will skip tournaments, but I wont be surprised if I lose early.
It's good for my opponents, now they also stand a chance" - she smiled with her cheeks turning red.

Both the Frenchwoman and American players are on top of their games right now.
MONTE CARLO, Monaco - Amelie Mauresmo had a tough time against American Angela Haynes, defeating her in a three setter which involved two tie-breakers by the score of 7-6(3) 4-6 7-6(5).
"I definitely had to hang in there. I feel I played the key points a little better. This is the kind of match I needed to get going for sure."
Next up is Serena Williams who defeated Russian player, Maria Kirilenko, in straights set by the score of 6-4 6-4. Mauresmo commented on Williams new found form.
"Serena seems to be playing better as of late. I'm not sure what to expect. But I will have to show up with my A-game, no doubt."

~*Supernova*~ May 10th, 2006, 05:34 PM Serena Returns From Injury In Impressive Style
http://blogs.wtnphotos.com/data/506/21239268459serena.jpg
Lets be honest. Serena has sucked so badly on the LTT tour for over a year. The reason has recently been given by Serena for her poor form:
"Well at the start of the last season, Lindsay Davenport accidently stood on my foot and my leg just shattered. It was unnoticable actually. So I played the full year with a crippling injury. I guess it's because I'm such a courageous player, lesser players would have retired *cough* Lindsay *cough*."
Serena only found out about the injury after winning a doubles title with Stephanie Foretz towards the end of last year, "After winning doubles, I thought that I may snap out of this slump. However, I still felt pain in my left leg. I went to the doctor and she said I would need surgery. With the end of the season, I thought I would get the operation done then and recover in time for the start of the new season. That wasn't meant to be as after Fed Cup my leg became worse. It forced me out of the Australian Open, which I think I would have won, even though I had barely won a singles match before."
http://blogs.wtnphotos.com/data/506/21236818647.jpg
Serena pulled out of the Austrailian Open just 30 seconds before her opening match. She was afraid the tour would not allow her to play again, but luckily they said she could have one more chance. From that moment Serena set her comeback tournament as Monte Carlo. She loves the life there and would not miss the tournament.
http://blogs.wtnphotos.com/data/506/21239282859serena.jpg
Serena faints after winning her second match
Serena's layoff seemed to do wonders for her game as she has reached the quaterfinals without dropping a set. Quite impressive for a player returning from an injury. "Well I won my first match 6-0 6-0 and I was in shock. I won my second match 6-2 6-2 and I fainted. Then I won my third match 6-4 6-4. I didn't do anything after that. It seems unreal that I'm in another quarterfinal. I play Mauresmo next and by the looks of my previous matches, I expect to win 7-5 7-5."
Serena seems confident in her game once more and it has shown on the courts this week. Whether she will be able to beat Mauresmo remains to be seen, but one thing is for certain, Serena is back!
----------------------------------------------------
Now watch Serena lose easily in the next round :rolls:
