Miami, USA - After weeks of speculation, Venus Williams has announced a definite retirement from women's tennis. Williams, who was titleless in singles, but reached #1 in the world in doubles, has many reasons for her sudden retirement.
"Well, it has sort of been in the works for a while," Venus said. "I'm sure the Directors and fans have noticed that I've been unable to maintain consistent results these past couple of weeks."
Venus wants it to be known that she isn't retiring because she's lost many matches during the second season. "You know, I lost many matches at the beginning of last season, but I had to drive to keep fighting and try my best. That drive is gone right now."
Sorry 'LTT' for having to retire. I've enjoyed your game so much during this season and the season passed, but I have too many things to deal with at home and with school, and this game is one of those that I need to retire from. You guys run an amazing game, and I am definitely sure that someone will like to take Venus' place, very soon!
Thanks for the good times,
Geisha
