With only 3 More weeks till YEC, We have now formally announced that we will be hosting a Season 2 of the LTT: Ladies Tennis Tour.

We have had such a successful Season 1, and we really have all you guys to thank for that. :hug:

Of course with a new season will come a little bit of change. We thought we would share it with you and see what you guys think, in the way of comments and suggestions. LTT will also have a new LOOK and LOGO! :eek:

1. We have decided to change the Doubles format. Previously, we added both players points, that you sent for singles. Now we will require that 1 person from the Doubles Team, will send a second set of points for Doubles.

Example:

Singles:
Set1: 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10-11-12-13
Set2: 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10-11-12-13
Set3: 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10-11-12-13

Doubles:
Set1: 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10-11-12-13
Set2: 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10-11-12-13
Set3: 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10-11-12-13

NOTE- Only ONE person sends doubles points in a week!

We believe this new strategy allows you and your Doubles Partner to strategise (like singles), and will encourage team communication, which is essential to have success in LTT.

In a GS we will still require you to send points for Singles, (Doubles) and Mixed.

2. Ranking Points - Although we will not go into detail for now, we have decided to UP the Ranking Points and Bonus Points.

3. Bonus points system for Articles, Player of the Week, Match of the Week.

Articles (most in a week) - 4BP
Player of the Week (most outstanding) - 3BP
Match of the Week (a match we consider worthy) - 3BP

This may allow you to have up to 10 Bonus Points to spread throughout 3 sets.

4. Tour Schedule will be similar, but with a few extra Tournaments and some others replaced.

I'm against the idea of bonus points, actually. I never liked it when I played the game last year and left early.

The bonus points is huge disadvantage to some people included me who don't come online often and it allowed to advantage for those boring people who stayed home in most of time. I can't even bother to write an article as it take me too long to finish it off.

I think it's good idea to change a little, esp for the ranking points :D

The rest looks fine, i think it will be difficult to set the things who'll be based on to elect the player of the week, if not always the winner of the week.

This rule is not negotiable. :)

We are sick of adding 64 Players Points together each week and it taking up time that we don't really have. Also the old doubles system was based on chance. This new format, will hopefully give more teams the oppurtunities to have more success together in doubles by discussing tactics.

:o The only reason we would have W/O, is if the teams don't communicate between each other. Obviously to have success in DOUBLES you need to COMMUNICATE with your partner very well.

If you want to give Bonus Points... It will be better to add them to the Ranking Points and not spread them throughout the different sets

I understand where you are coming from with this. I think it would be even better to have partners alternating sending in points. For instance, with Hantuchova/Myskina, if Myskina sends in points every week, then of course they will win. (No offense to Daniela)If Daniela sends in points, then they are less likely to win as much, because her points won't be as well thought out as Myskina's. So I think alternating weekly is a good thing.

It's good that you are upgrading the ranking points. I just want to point out an instance that surely needs fixing. For reaching the Third Round of a Grand Slam, you only get ten more points than you do for reaching the Second Round. I really think this difference should be greater, for it is the reason that I am stuck at 16 after reaching the Third Round at the U.S. Open.

I don't think you should have bonus points for articles, but the other two seem fine. But, how will you base your judgment of player of the week. Would it always be the person that won the previous tournament, or what other criteria would there be?

Great idea. I love playing in games where there is Fed Cup, because it adds an all new, team oriented element to this already great game. I think we should be able to make our own teams, though, not going by countries. But I wouldn't mind just me and Martina on a team...

I can understand what you mean by alternating weekly points, but if Myskina's coach (Chevina) communicates well with his partners, when its time for Hantuchova to send points, Myskina could easily share his tactics, therefore it makes no difference who is sending the points in that week. :)

If you have incorrect points from the start of next season, you will automatically lose by W/O. :)

During the U.S OPEN a few players still sent some incorrect points with a few of the same numbers repeated. In the future, we will not be replacing the missing numbers, you'll just automatically lose. Keeping in mind, with the OLD DOUBLES FORMAT, you would also lose due to a W/O. :D

Gary and I are not here to correct your points. Its pretty simple, 1-13 .. just count. :)

LTT, I know I am being a pain probably, but is there any way that you guys can get rid of the doubles bonus points. I think the majority of the players are not feeling it. I've been here since 2001 so I don't know what you talking about :tape:

Plus, I've been busy lately and will continues through the next two years with my work for TAFE and other stuff.

:rolleyes: But whatever you like to do for this game, then go for it.

And yes, I use MSN online a lot that's because I'm doing design on computer :ras: It's Digital Media, that's what course I study.

I love the fed cup idea

I like the idea of Fed Cup and all for it but I dont like it when u put two players of different countries together, so maybe you could run a tournament aswell as in those weeks :shrug:

Yeah, I agree there too. That would be nice to help boost people up the rankings espically if they had a good week.

Everything is great. I like the bonus point system, it's more incentive for people to be more competitive and show their dedication. I think the Fed Cup is a cool idea too. Keep it up, guys!

Maybe we should put a 01 in the player profiles with the titles won & achivements since it was during the first season and we don't follow the real shedule. Just to seperate those titles from those which will be won next season.

Just a stupid question...If I use Morita(or whoever) as my player in Season2, I still have to defend Misa K.(my Season1 player) points right?
