And I guess you're all wondering why I'm still playing when I have been losing a few matches. Well the truth is that the LTT tournament directirs pay me £5 Million in appearance fee for EACH tournament!!! I add a touch of class to the proceedings around here :angel: I was also told to lose my matches because if I played at my best the rest of the tour will become unenchanted with the game of tennis. It would be impossible to beat me. :angel:

Ana Ivanovic beat Althea Gibson in a 3 set thriller where she won 5-7 6-4 7-6(6). Ana had to save 3 match points in the deciding set.

"I'm very relieved to win this extremely close match. Frankly, it could have went either way. It was a pity that there was only one winner. I hope Althea won't get too discouraged and continue playing her elegant tennis."

In the finals, Ana will face 15th seed, Angela Haynes. This is the first final for both girls and one of them will be a first time titlelist.

"I'm very happy for Angela as she too had suffered setbacks. But the important thing is that we are both in the finals and I really hope to win my first title here."

M- Congrats on reaching the semifinals in your first tournament played Althea.

A.G- Thanx. That's great. Yeah. Really nice achievement.

M- Yet, you don't seem to enjoy it right now...

A.G- Well, you know, i'm just a little sad, it was so good, i mean these days have been so full of joy, everything...that was so quick...i think i'm realizing, the pressure, where i am, it's crazy, so i feel a little strange.

M- 3 match points.

A.G- She just put it away from me. Well, the first, i think i just overhit, i was too eager, too excited, then, she just had amazing shots. That's the best match i played, that was a good match, you know while i was on the court, i kinda stopped like omg, that's a great match. It's more difficult when you're that close and fail to capitalize.

M- Was there anything you could have done better?

A.G- All the shots were on today, i just ran to a better player. But i'm glad that Ana may win her first title, she deserves it a lot, and as i said, she's one of my fave, i'm still supporting.

M- It could have been an all black american womaen final.

A.G- And we're not even sisters. ;)

M- Hopes for the future?

A.G- Well, i'll try to get my ranking up, i think i'll be ranked after that, but there's still a lot to do. The main thing is that i want to be consistent.

American tennis prospect, 15th seed Angela Haynes, has made her first ever final on the LTT tour by defeating Ksenia Palkina 7-5, 4-6, 6-4 at the Central Bank of Iceland Challenge in Reykjavic. Haynes played awesome grass-court tennis, mixing up her serve and using her big lefty forehand to her advantage. Down 3-5 in the opening set, Haynes blitzed through the next four games, losing only 5 points. However, in the second set Palkina fought back breaking serve in the first game and holding the rest of the way. The third set was much like the second, with both players holding serve comfortably until Haynes broke and won on her first match point when leading 5-4. After the match Haynes was ecstatic, saying, "I am overjoyed to be in my first ever final, and in such a big event! Coming into this week I never could have imagined this, but with each win I have gotten here I have gained more confidence and desire to win." Haynes plays fourth seed, Ana Ivanovic in the final. About her opponent, Haynes remarked, "Ana is an unbelievable player, the highest seed that I've played this week, so she is definitely the favorite. But this week has taught me that anything is possible so I am just going to go out there and play my game, hopefully that will be enough to win the match." In doubles Haynes and her partner, new world number 1 Kim Clijsters, were not as fortunate, losing to the impressive unseeded team of Svetlana Kuznetsova and Elena Bovina 6-3, 6-1. But there was still reason to be happy about the doubles result, as Haynes explained, "It was the first ever semifinal for Kim and I as a team, we beat two great teams here and we are back into the top 8 in the race to the championship. Today we just got outplayed by a very talented team." To conclude Haynes offered this, "To all of the other players out there stuggling to win matches I want to say this, don't give up, for months I could not win two matches in a row, but now I have won five. Have faith in yourself and always play your game."

Ana Ivanovic claims her first LTT singles title with a 6-4 6-4 win over 15th seed, Angela Haynes. In a closely fought contest featuring several breaks of serves, Ana finally sealed victory when Angela's forehand sailed out.

"I'm so pleased with my victory here! I'm speechless. Thanks for all the support! It's been a very tough season so far and finally I have a trophy to show off for my hard work!"

Ana Ivanovic has been one of the most consistent performers on LTT. She had reached at least the quarter-finals of all the events of LTT except for 2 events.

"I thought I was way too consistent! I'm very satisfied this week. I'm trying my game strategies and I'm so happy it paid off! Thank you to all who believed in me!":)
