I have a friend who takes lessons from Erica's coach in the Miami area and he said the coach told him Erica decided to quit tennis and take a full-time job in the business world. For those who don't know, Biro was a stylish left-handed Canadian player whose highest ranking was around 320-330. She made the semi's last year at the Birmingham 25K being held this coming week, that's why i thought of this. Is a shame really as i thought she had at least as much talent as any of the leading Canadian players.

Thanks for the news vogus! Sad that Erica will retire  She always seemed like a bit of an enigma to the Canadian fans as not much was ever really known about her compared to a lot of our other players. She did play NCAA tennis before having a try at professional level, but didn't always play as regularly as some others. Still, she did manage to achieve some decent results, too bad she didn't keep trying to pursue more as she seemed to be improving but hopefully she will have a great business career in store for the future :)

Thanks for the news, vogus. Wasn't Erica one of the Canadian ladies interviewed by Barkann in the players' lounge during the endless US Open rain delays last year or the year before? Anyway, all the best to her in her new career, where she will have to get used to not having a fanbase any more! :(

she was really good :bigcry:

i talked to her in a 25k challenger around two years, and she was really nice - she had tons of potential, but never played a full year on the tour (too bad)

sad to see her go
