Welcome to Bordeaux! Here in France we have a second 75K tournament on the ITF part of the PYW Tour, after Dénain last week. Of course the French crowd are hoping for a home winner, which failed to happen in Dénain, but only time will tell, whether that can actually be done! Maybe the wine from the region can be a stimulation to some of the players.

Two Slovakians are taking control of the Bordeaux field here. Henrieta Nagyova and Jarmila Gajdosova, who both came through the qualifying competition, are demolishing their opponents. A possible semi final clash awaits them. But Germany's Sabine Klaschka and the French wild card player Pauline Parmentier will be eager to tackle the Slovakians in the quarter finals.

In the top half, Swedish lucky loser Hanna Nooni is the top favourite. In her quarter final match she takes on the only remaining seeded player: Sandra Klösel. The #8 seed is surprising many by doing this well.

Elise Tamaëla is the slightly favoured player in her match against qualifier Aravane Rezai. But will she be able to beat the Iranian Frenchwoman?
