Her best shot IMO is her double-handed backhand wich is very powerful and after a first set when she started 0/4 making too many mistakes she could recover just in time in the second and finally win the 3rd in style. Once she focuses she's very consistent although I must say Ivana helped her with too many easy mistakes in the final set.

I think that in a way the ITF circuit gives you much more genuin personalities.
with the stardom and superstardom in the higher ranked tournies you can interview most of the top50 and recieve the exact same answer:

WOW Silvia played great solid tennis! The 17 yo girl from Valencia showed very deep shots and was very consistent. (No wonder she's beaten Pichet and O'Donoghue in str8 sets this year and reached top 500) Her problem was Meusburger, a player who lacks power but excels in accuracy and barely misses a ball. Her forehand on the line was simply beautiful. Yvonne seems a nice girl but looks like 10/15 years older than her age and her looks are absolutely horrendous (hair, clothes...)

Carla started the match in style getting a 5/1 lead but Larissa improved and managed to force the TB. There Larissa had a 4/0 lead but started to miss quite a lot and lost the set with a very doubtful call against her on a Carla winner. She just went to see the mark and stepped over it. That was really nice as she just went to the chair without protesting such a close call on set point! She gained my respect as 99 % of players would start a catfight over that LOL She played smart tennis and tired Carla (who just turned 17 three weeks ago) in an over 3 hours match to take the battle. Carla's one hand backhand is awesome but it's too bad she's such a small girl and can't reach the ball early enough most of the times...

María Sanchez Lorenzo d. Paula Garcia 75 60
María was too consistent for Paula at the end. From the first set I can't understand why Paula is having such a terrible season. She hits so strong and creates good angles but then starts losing her cool and makes too many mistakes. That's the biggest difference between WTA & ITF players. While Maria wasn't playing her best today she stayed focused and got through easily at the end while Paula was getting desperate. Oh well...

Lourdes was just too consistent today making poor Hanna to run all over the court. Lourdes net skills are amazing and I wonder why she doesn't take advantage of that more often on hardcourts...The match was beautiful with great rallies and Hanna was getting pretty fustrated smashing the ball and throwing her racket when missing or hitting the net but I have to say that she was only mad with herself as the players were very respectful with each other and always helping with the balls (no ballboys yet) -Nothing to do with Mervana who yesterday was so bitchy with poor Nagy cursing in Italian, English and I assume her native language in such an agressive mood. Spectators, specially old club people were left amazed at the Bosnian fiery temper- Hanna's game is ok but I can't see her doing great things on tour (IMO Arvidsson is way way better) but she can try to pursue a career in soccer as she looooves playing with the tennis balls on court! LOL

There has been not a single forehand today played in a 'regular way' (though I saw 3 or 4 'normal' FH in her 3 combined qualy matches) but her 2 hand BH is pretty good. This kind of game would take her to the top 200 but she'll have to improve that jokable FH to be a regular top 100 (I mean, is not a bad shot but when her opponent is used to play it it becomes very vulnerable and I can't see it being a menace for any top 100 player)
What it was a joke too was the 3rd set where almost 50% of Monica's winners were dropshots that Rita wouldn't even bother trying to reach...

Well, Maret is just in another league. She had to do little to upset Gaby as she's not a bad player with good net skills and deep shots but not real power and not looking for the lines so while she would bet an OK player from time to time (wins over Savransky, Dabek or Roesch in the last year) she is going anywhere near the Top 300. Maret is still as powerful as masculine just like the last time I saw her 2 years ago ;-) Hopefully she'll reach the top 100 soon

If only Maret had no mental ups & downs during the match she'd be top 50 for sure. Her technique is amazing and has got absolutely all the shots.

Libuse is really good too but Maret was playing awesome until the end of the match when Maret gave some easy points that cut just in time as I saw Libuse ready to take it to the third

Bohmova led 75 51 and Monica had several points to make it 5/5 in the second. Oddly enough today she didn't even cried/laughed/screamed/throwed her racket once in the entire match. This girl is sooo weird. And BTW that was a dropshot festival as there were games when both players won all their points with this shot. Monica is truly a master of DS...such a shame we didn't see a third set, great points in this (over 2 hours!) match.

Conchita played too consistent for the Croat. Darija is just good but there are many good players in the circuit. You have to add something else...

I have heard people earlier saying the same thing. She just sometimes looses her nerv. I was afraid of the same thing last time she was playing agains Libuse (her former doubles partner) and nor the WTA position nor Marets skills can help about that. Luckily she have bocome more stabile and that is sure seen on the scores. Two weeks back she beated Bartoli in Portoroz first round with 7-5, 6-1 and then lost to Daniilidou in second with 3-6, 6-2, 7-5.
Anyway good luck against Martinez-Granados in SF. :kiss:
