Tina Schiechtl had to retire due to a strike at the airport. She arrived at midnight in Mexico without anything. She had to buy clothes and rackets in Juarez and to play her match after any sleep. Xian, fact is ITF is not WTA and 1st rounds are scheduled MON & TUE (except in UK)
Lourdes played final in Jounieh (Lebanon) on Sunday afternoon and had to fly all the way to the westernest part of Europe after several plane connections to Porto and had to play Tuesday too even if she was top seed...

And BTW these are the risks you have to take when you enter a tournament in Europe one week (Porto) and the following week you want to play in the other side of the Ocean (Mexico). A better scheduling would have avoid this situation too ;)
