PYW - ITF Dénain

Welcome to Dénain! Here in France players that did not make it at the US Open get a chance to have a change of surface and try their hand at clay tennis. The city hosts a 75 K ITF tournament and with a lot of players still playing in the US lower ranked players have a chance to shine without having to defend points on the PYW Tour. As a result only four players ranked in the Top 100 have graced us with their presence here.

Lubomira Kurhajcova SVK
The quarterfinal saw some high quality matches. Especially Bohmova needed a lot of work before she could complete the win over Russia's Lioudmila Skavronskaia. The third set being a thriller with Bohmova fighting off a match point. The last french competitor left the tournament though when Mathilde Johansson lost to Estonian Kaia Kanepi. Further winners included Jarmila Gajdosova and Lina Stanciute. The Lithuanian qualifier is one of the surprises of this tournament, going further than expected. Gajdosova is the biggest favourite at the moment though, having the highest PYW ranking and winning ITF Washington before. Kaia Kanepi can not be ruled out either after winning ITF Vittel earlier this season, defeating Jarmila Gajdosova there in the final. Let's see if Jarmila can take revenge in their current semifinal match.
Now it's all up to you to decide who gets to make it to the final. Vote for who you want to win these semifinal matches!
Semifinals:
Kaia Kanepi EST v. Jarmila Gajdosova SVK
Lina Stanciute LTU [Q] v. Katerina Bohmova CZE
