Welcome to Dénain! Here in France players that did not make it at the US Open get a chance to have a change of surface and try their hand at clay tennis. The city hosts a 75 K ITF tournament and with a lot of players still playing in the US lower ranked players have a chance to shine without having to defend points on the PYW Tour. As a result only four players ranked in the Top 100 have graced us with their presence here.

The second round saw the last top favourite bow out. Arantxa Parra Santonja of Spain was only handed three games by Estonian Kaia Kanepi. It's the lower ranked players that are grabbing power at this 75 K tournament apparently. The French saw their chances of a home winner slim too, with the loss of wild card Violette Huck. Mathilde Johansson overcame a tough three set battle with German Sabine Klaschka though, to keep her title hopes alive.
Now it's all up to you to decide who gets to make it to the last 4 in the draw. Vote for who you want to win these quarterfinal matches!
