I had a nightmare last night. I drempt that I was using the computer and I read a result that said that Lee lost 64 62. I remember I woke up and thought that that had just happened and I was so gutted! I couldnt sleep for the rest of the night. I can understand why they didn't play doubles. They're both ranked top 110, 120 or something aren't they. Same deal with not seeing singles players ranked that high playing $10k singles, playing dub's - not worth it, points wise or money wise. I think the winners only take home like $300 each for winning the dub's. They'd be here solely for the singles points & match play. Like when Leanne entered the $10k's in NZL earlier in the year. It's a good thing though - they're too good to bother with the dub's here! ;) I wish they hadn't played in the same $10k as each other. Shame 1 has to lose :sad:

Heres what i saw

Peterzan def Coles

1st set Laura was quite bad she kept hitting long or into the net with her forehand. Coles played some great rallies though with great power.

In the second set Laura turned the whole match around she cut her UF errors right down and played much better going for angles. Sarah got frustrated with the lack of impact and started to make errors.

In the third the old Laura returned at first wth her forehand breaking down she was 1-4 a double break downbut fought back to 3-5 saved a match point at 3-5 then held the broke in a long game then she played 2 great game whilst Coles hit a few errors.

Laura has a great backhand down the line and crosscourt. Its so consistant but also she can belt it for a winner.

The way Bhambri plays Laura should win tomorrow.

Becky LL def Dillon It was actually 6-3 6-3.

Becky played great to start with grest serving,coming into net,slicing hitting great passing shots, running everything down and was soon 5-0 up. Then Dillon conected with a few shots and was suddenly 5-3. Then Becky stayed steady and won thr set.

second set was very similar Becky went 4-1 up, Dillon came back to 4-3 then becky won. She just played solid tennis and mixed it up well. Shes great to watch Becky cos shes so different to most brits who just belt it from the baseline.

South def Cox

Cox is a lefty and uses it well, mainly on her serve which gave Mel a bit of trouble in the 1st set. She hit some great forehands too.

Mel was a bit up and down. for a few games she'd hit a string of winners then the next games a few errors would creep in. I think she'll have to improve if shes going to beat Becky. But that should be a great match tomorrow.

Anna Smith def Marama 6-3 6-4

Anna has such a good game. Shes quite similar to Katie O'Brien shes deceptively powerful. her backhand down the line won her so many points today. has a good all round game, powerful but mixes it up and is a good mover. I think she's got a great shot tomorrow

Kulikova def Paterson

Well what can i say? How did Karren loose? Every rally she was dictating, kulikova just does nothing with the ball. Even when she went for a shot Karren would just hit a better shot. Kulikova just got the ball back all the time the eventualy Karen would miss. a few times shockingly a certain netted smash comes to mind and missed drive vollies. Karen needs to work on her one two punch so that has a way of getting 2/3 easy points in her service game then she woul dbe fine.

Anna should beat Kulikova tomorrow.

the problem with Karen P as i see it
she can barely keep the ball in play for more than 2-3 shots in any one rally.

she's got the talent, but like alot of british players, is a bit of a head case. when she gets it together she is superb, but anything else and she cant beat anyone.

How much potential do you think Rachael dillon has? How does she play? Apparently her serve and forehand are pretty good.

Rachel has improved a lot since i saw her last year.

She hits the ball pretty hard off both wings. It was her forehand doing a lot of damage against Llewellyn. She was a bit impatient at the start and missed a few shots. Her serve was quite good. Once she got going she hit some great forehands.

I don't know how much potential she has.If she can repeat performances like Dubin then i'm sure she'll climb a lot higher.How much higher i don't know.
