paul_masterton Apr 30th, 2005, 01:54 PM Edinburgh’s Frances Hendry makes her long awaited return to the competition. The 19 year old’s career was cut short by glandular fever a year and a half ago. Now a Business Management and French student at Glasgow University, Hendry has been awarded one of four wild cards into the $10,000 main draw.<?XML:NAMESPACE PREFIX = O />
“I have been playing a lot in university matches, I’m still improving and have been short-listed for the World Student Games team so I’m working towards that,” she said.
“Next week I’d like to prove to myself that I’m still as good as I think I am, that I can play as well as these other girls. They haven’t seen me for a couple of years. It would be good to surprise them.”

and Hingley, Richards and Stallard together :(
lol, for some reson the Picot v. Van Bennekom match is on centre court today. I mean i know only about 2 of the 300 seats are ever full, but an odd match to put on.
Grover v. Tomlinson is on Court 5, the one which is separated from a main road by a small wooden fence. Haha, there is a pedestrian crossing 1 metre away from the side of the court, so every time the lights go to red it beeps so you know its a green man.
I'm sorry that i cant go at all, got an exam on wednesday, then working thursday night. if i can get my shift covered might try to see thursday's play. But i hate going to edinburgh, your always the only 1 watching...

Grachka May 4th, 2005, 09:07 PM I thought Kahn was playing Kozokina?
Coles was playing Lobbinger.
Kozhokina is playing in Turkey, so must have withdrawn, and hence Steel was a lucky loser.

I think Becky F must have had a broken leg to lose so badly to Becky D today  There is just no other explanation.
TheBoiledEgg May 4th, 2005, 09:20 PM so what happened to Sarah Coles

Hard luck Melanie but judging by the above you lost to a good player so well done getting to another final and winning your fourth title this year (three doubles titles and the singles v Keothavong). Stay injury free and you will soon be racing up the rankings again. :wavey: :wavey:
