View Full Version : Has anyone applied for the Wimbledon 2005 Ticket Ballot?
andrew_uk Jan 10th, 2005, 09:21 PM I have :wavey:
I did this successfully in 2002 (the only time I've done it before) and got a pair of tickets for court 1 on the first Friday :)
andrew_uk Jan 11th, 2005, 07:34 PM Come on I can't be the only one  Or am I? :p
BritneySpearsIsHot Jan 11th, 2005, 07:54 PM No.
However, myself, my sisters, step mum and partner are thinking about debenture tickets for Centre Court (total 10 tickets) @ 390GBP each
We haven't decided yet, money is not an issue, it's just making plans and the debenture tickets come with open bar, champagne, cigarettes/cigars etc etc and we all either don't drink/don't drink much and none of us smoke
Snuffkin Jan 11th, 2005, 09:50 PM Yeah, I've applied. Been successful in 2002 and 2003. Nothing last year.
Bacardi Jan 11th, 2005, 10:39 PM I bet Jennifers Wife has, wherever she is today ;)
Oh Dana... I know she has, to stalk JEN
Snuffkin Jan 11th, 2005, 10:46 PM Regardless of getting tix in the ballot, Lucy finds her way there. As I can personally confirm. Getting tix in the ballot is a bonus - many of us go anyway. Although Lucy seems to enjoy her nights under canvas more than some of us. Well, me.
BritneySpearsIsHot Jan 11th, 2005, 10:57 PM I'd never heard of this ballot.
I'd sooner pay my 390 pounds for the top seats and privelidges now, that way i know i'd have tickets........if i don't go, i'd just sell them.....maybe
andrew_uk Jan 12th, 2005, 01:52 AM How do you get Debenture tickets?
Czechfan Jan 12th, 2005, 04:21 AM How do you enter?
vertigo Jan 12th, 2005, 09:23 AM Yep. I enter every year. I've got tickets every year so far so damn it, I've probably cursed myself now and won't get any now.
Czechfan; You can't enter this year because the ballot has closed but next year straight after wimbledon be sure to send a stamp addressed envelope to; AELTC, PO Box 98, London SW19 5AE.
They send an application form which you need to complete and return to the same address. It's really easy!!
andrew_uk Jan 12th, 2005, 11:03 AM Czechfan, I think you can only enter th ballot if you have a UK address.
They have a rule that only 1 entry per household can enter, I have this idea that I could get loads of my family and friends to apply, to increase my chances of getting better tickets :p I didn't do it for this year but maybe next
BritneySpearsIsHot Jan 12th, 2005, 11:57 AM How do you get Debenture tickets?
Through any major ticket company. I'm sure you could get them through the All England Club too. I could never afford them until now, so i may get 10 for me and my people.......but i'm not 100% whether i should, i meani don't want the goodies that come with it.........gotta decide if a good seat for 390 pounds a time is worthy

i'm always pretty gutted when i've paid 40 pounds and the person i wanted to see is playing on another court. I can't imagine paying that much and being disappointed. On the other hand, at least your guaranteed good seats, so if you've got the money- go for it!!
Kelly Jan 12th, 2005, 04:36 PM ive entered and i so hope i get some. i got centre court last year on first tuesday...lindsay wasnt playing and it got rained off in the afternoon...typical!

Money is no issue, there will be 10 of us, so nearly 4000 pounds just for the tickets.........it's just a case of 'Do i really want it'
It's meant to be a birthday thing for me as my birthday is during Wimbledon......but i'm not convinced...........it'll probably rain :o
But it's an option

anyone can enter :wavey:
and yes it is 1 entry per household, and they dont accept company addresses or c/o's.
and payment can only be made on the name of the person who's name is on the ballot.
odds are pretty low, used to be 1 in 10000, probably closer to 1 in 50000 now.
and this yrs entries have closed.

Where did you get 390 from ? and for 10 tickets :tape:
Centre Court debentures cost £23,150
and that only gives you ONE debenture ticket for 5 yrs.

These are 1 day passes
BritneySpearsIsHot Jan 12th, 2005, 06:15 PM 390GBP*13Days (No middle Sunday) * 5 years = 25350
So naturally will cost more per day pass , so those figures sound about right

Cilla Jan 12th, 2005, 07:37 PM Yeah, I've entered this year. And, also through the LTA. Last year was the first time I entered and I got tickets for the final Saturday on Court No.1 (the day where nothing happens except mixed/senior doubles) but as it was rained off the day before, my friend and I got to see the Roddick Vs Ancic semi.
PaulieM Jan 13th, 2005, 04:24 PM I did!
